shrooms

DUSTOFF MEDEVAC
So I have these awesome bright, luminescent orange shrooms that I'm interested in fragging - problem is, I'm not too sure how to go about it.
I took a surgical razor to one of the shrooms to try to cut it, but it kind of just slipped around and secreted a ton of mucus.

Also, once I cut a piece, what's a good way to reattach it somewhere else?
Thanks guys!

The best way I've found to get new shrooms to attach is to put a little bit of live rock rubble in the bottom of a plastic cup, toss in the shrooms, then rubberband a piece of mesh or netting over the top of the cup. Put the cup in your tank and let it sit for a couple weeks. The mesh should still let through water flow and light, and the shrooms won't be able to float away.

Wow....I always saw people talking about fragging, but never actually knew how it was done. Awesome vid. So basically, you just slice off the mushroom tops, leaving the stump on the rock, then taking that slice and cutting it if you want, and just letting it settle on rock.

How long does it take the stump to grow back its top, and how long does the fragged mushroom take to grow a new stump? I have a large mushroom I could frag. I don't have a frag tank, so can I just do the cup and mesh thin and put it in the main tank, just under the powerhead in the far corner?

My wife is getting me a fraging kit on my birthday. You can pretty much learn to frag a lot of things by watching youtube.

When fragging any coral, you must take precautions to not get the mucus or slime into any open wounds or openings into the body such as eyes, mouth, etc. always wear surgical gloves and eye protection, once done wash your hands and forearms with a bacterial soap, dont get any soap into the tank. hope this helps.
