Schooling Fish

Not sure what to go with to give my tank a schooling flash. Im leaning towards Chromis but I'd also like the look of a handful of Yellow Tail Damsels. Which would be best?

I would go with Blue/Green Chromis, mind you stay away from black shoulder green chromis as these guys are mean little guys.

lol no love for the damsels? Yellow tails are pretty docile.

yellow tails can get mean i had a yellow tail and domino and they fought till the death ill never own another damsel again lol and to add they were the only 2 fish in my 55gal tank

I'd like to point out that a proper school would be almost your entire stock list for a 55. What else do you have in your tank?

2 clowns, that's all. I think a good school look would beat the hell outa any random things i can throw in there.

i would say 5 blue green chromis would be the max for your tank imho

A lot of people refer to chromis as "highlander fish" (there can be only one).

This behavior is usually compounded unless you have a really big tank.

+1 Erin------ I had success in my 150g with a school of chromis but zero success in my 90g. They can be ruthless to each other.

So what about the yellow tails? Domino's are the devil but from what i've seen they do really well together.

its your tank you could try them but my yellow tail and domino did nothing but fight ill never own another damsel again

iv'e always heard the domino's were very aggressive.

they both were and the yellow tail was in there first i love the look of the domino and the yellow tail but that burnt me
