Sand swap?

WIth all my yucky issues with sand I'm thinking of doing a swap. I have Pink and White Fiji right now. I'm thinking of swapping it for Black since my sand has already been well disturbed, with no ill effects, and is only about 2" inches deep. How would I add sand back to the tank? I can scoop and vacuum the sand out, but adding it without creating a sand storm has me stumped. I figured I would rinse the new sand in RODI so it would be wet but I'm sure it would still dust everything. How much should I swap out at one time?

I have never done this, but have read that it keeps sand storm down to a minimum. Use a length of PVC pipe and a funnel that way you can get it down to the bottom without getting blown around.

This is what I have read about as well. Seems like it would work logically to me.

No matter what, though, you're going to have some sand floating around. It's inevitable. If it bugs you, hook up an old HOB or canister filter with carbon to make it settle faster.

A little bit of cloudiness and dust won't hurt your tank inhabitants, though. :)
