Sand depth for Biocube 14

Hello,
My son set up his Biocube 14 with live rock and live sand. Can anyone tell me how deep the sand should be? The plan is for a CUC, a few corals and maybe a fish.

i wouldnt go any deeper than 2 in

Thanks, we are good then. He has it 2 1/2" in some places and an 1" or so in others. He wants to level it all out, but does it matter?

Nope, it doesn't matter...

1 to 2 inches is good. No point in trying to level it out, as it will find its own place eventually due to differences in flow and how the powerheads are positioned.
