My question is, what risk am I taking in moving some larger rocks around in my tank? It's been up and running for 11 months. My idea is to remove some rock and place it in the sump to give a larger sand area for placing corals. The rocks I'm thinking of removing are sitting on the sand and not buried in it. They are not part of the main aquascaping stack.

I also scattered two handfuls to crushed coral in the front corners of the tank. In hindsight this was a bad idea as it does not looks anything like I had envisioned it. Actually it looks horrible. What risk am I taking disturbing the sand bed by scooping this stuff out?

Very little risk. Some gunk is going to come off of them and cloud up the water, but I wouldn't worry about it if I were you, it will settle and clear up. Since you have such a small amount of crushed coral in there, it won't hurt to scoop it out.

Did some rearrangement of the power heads today. Boy are my fish pissed! Too much going on inside the tank in such a short period. Think I'll leave them alone for a week before I do anything else.

Pic coming.
