Any filter feeder cleans the water.never had a sponge you can frag sorry don't think so
were are you getting it from maybe they can answer the question about fragging it
a good majority of sponges are non photo synthetic.so light is not an issue but to much can be bad

Yes you can frag a sponge but you have to do it all under water if it gets air in it thats not good. I dont think they need a lot of light and they will eat stuff out of the water
