Pump Noise

The return pump in my sump seem to be making a bit of noise. Is there a way to make it quieter?
BTW it's a RIO 8HF

what type of noise?? my pump was sitting on the glass and vibrating
so i took a filter pad and sat the pump on that now all quite

That was my first thought, so I did the same thing. It even makes the vibrating noise when I lift the pump up off the bottom and it's not sitting on anything.
I really thinking about trading up for an Eheim, Tunze, or something else.

maybe a air pocket inside the pump?

How could I check for that and get rid of it if that's the cause?

with the pump under water rotate it slowly until all air bubbles
stop. you can do it with the pump running as long as you dont
suck air back into the pump

Well....I don't know what happened, but it's a lot quieter now. I had shut it off last night (tank is in the bedroom) and when I started it back up this morning there was just a slight hum of the motor. I can live with the hum, it was the other god awful noise I was having an issue with

if the pump has been in use for a while, it may be time to break it down and do a cleaning

Whenever my pumps make a loud noise it means it is time to clean them
