Pink fleshy substance on candy cane

I have noticed this soft pink stuff growing larger on my candy cane. I hope this is good and not something bad.

Almost looks like some sort of mushroom or sponge.

i would say its some type of sponge. I would just remove it if its starting to bother the candy cane.

It's a pity it's growing on the coral cuas that looks really cool.
