Pink color in the waste cup

This am I found a pink color in the waste cup on my protein skimmer. Does anyone know what that could be?:shock:

Is it hard? Because it could be coraline algae.

This is the pink color I was talking about before. I have the pic of the coral on "Corals" I couldn't put both pic on this messge.

Anyway, I was told today that this is a pink "DYE" that was probably put into the coral for selling purposes and that soft corals don't usually have that pink coral.
IThis color is obviously from that coral . So, could it be dye?

Oh wow...it very much could be. Some places are known for dyeing corals and anemones for "selling purposes".

Well this am I looked at this coral and it was just handing down off the rock. It looked dead with the exception of a little piece growing off the side. I don't know if I was supposed to do this but I cut off the major coral growth, stuck the root of it in my life sand, and maybe the little sprout of the left over coral will grow. It makes sense to me it would work because wouldn't that happen in the ocean?

By the way , how do I put 2 pics of one thread from photobucket.? I tried doing this yesterday but failed.

Well, it has to be from the coral . It wasn't there before.I put the coral in.
