Reefing newb
today when I was feeding my fish I watched one of my nassarius snails accidentally climb onto a plate coral and it got stuck on the tentacles. I wasn't sure what to do and if the coral was going to be harmed and the snail was trying to suck back into its shell, then seemingly out of nowhere my peppermint shrimp came out of the rocks, perched on top of the snails shell, and began digging feverishly around the base of the snail. after about 10 seconds the shrimp finally pulled the snail off the plate and darted back into the rocks. the snail just turned around and kept cruising and the coral doesn't look disturbed at all. this seemed very bizarre to me, anyone else ever heard of behavior like this?
