Pagoda Cup Corals

BigH55

I'm that guy
I though Id ask the tribe of elders about this coral. Im seeing them more and more in the LFS, and they intrigue me. Does anyone keep them and what are thre requirements to be successful?

Thats what I read. Kinda like a sun coral. They have no zooxenthalne algae, so I guess they have to be spot fed too.

Nope.I do feed reef snow and zooplankton from time to time, but the only thing I actually spot feed is my duncans.
I think I did burn it when I went MH lights because its a golden yellow now.Still get good polyp extension, but it sure hasnt grown any.

I think you'll like em.Just start it on the bottom and in some shade.Their actually a fairly easy SPS with the right amount of light.

I guess ill go shopping on Friday. You talked me into it. I bet a piece of the purple monti could get me one.

Actually, cup corals (turbinaria sp.) are LPS....as in large polyp. And like most other LPS, the like med light and med flow.

they are cool, I have one and it doesn't require much. Actually my clownfish hosts it and it doesn't care.
