Ordering LR

Have any of you ever ordered LR from an online store? good experiances, bad experiances?

How is it shipped?

I ordered almost all my live rock (about 500 lbs) from Aquarium Fish: Tropical Freshwater Fish and Saltwater Fish for Home Aquariums. They have really nice rock. Other places that people recommend a lot are Live Rock - Tampa Bay Saltwater Aquacultured Live Rock and Saltwater and Reef Aquariums Supplies and Equipment - Salty Critter - Your Saltwater Specialists. For dry base rock, Marco Rocks The finest aquarium rock available, base rock, live rock, reef rock, marco rock, reef tank saltwater fish, live corals, Marco rocks, Fiji live rock, Tonga Live rock.

Live rock is shipped in styrofoam coolers with a bit of water, wrapped in wet newspaper.

Just my 2 cents here, but I would suggest saving some money by buying 20% live rock and 80% dry base rock. The live rock with seed the base rock, and in no time at all you will have a ton of nice live rock. This worked great for me. I purchased 120lbs of base rock from Marcorocks.com and the rock was splendid. I then went to my LFS and hand selected maybe 25-30 lbs of live rock (and I probably could have used less). This allowed me to hand pick the live rock, and to avoid the die off that occurs during shipping.

Withing no time i had nice coraline and sponge all over my base rock, and I saved a ton of money. (remember that when you buy dry rocks you are not paying for the heavy water that comes with live rocks).
