COMMON NAME - Orangeshoulder Surgeonfish (Orangeband Surgeonfish)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 135 US Gal. (511 L)
FOODS AND FEEDING - Varied diet with mostly vegetable fare, dried and frozen herbivores foods, marine algae, spirulina, pieces of zucchini, broccoli, leaf lettuce, sushi nori (dried seaweed no additives). Feed 3 times a day.
REEF COMPATIBILITY - Rarely bothers corals unless underfed, feeding habits are sucking filamentous algae, diatoms, and detritus off the sand surface.
CAPTIVE CARE - Has a more peaceful disposition than others in the genus, needs plenty of swim room and a large tank, keep only one per tank, an adult and a juvenile can be kept in a large system. Usually with ignore other acanthurids, should be added first if kept with other surgeonfishes.
