Plan C - Hamilton Technology 24" ABS Power Compact Fixture - 2 x 65W

3 watts/g and still fits my current system! I know its on the low side but let me know what you think guys! OR i could go double the power. 4x65w. Can I pull it off with either of these fixtures?

Stay away from Power Compacts unless its like a really good deal or something they have less PAR than T5's.

The perfect fixture for you would be a 250w MH. See if you can find something like that. If you can't you can even look into the retro fit equipment like Biff said. Buy a ballast, pendant reflector, and a bulb. Wire it up yourself.

Yes, power compacts don't fit the watts per gallon rule, because they put out less usable light per watt than T5s and MH do. They are weak lights and not very popular in the hobby anymore.

That's an Odyssea Fixture, they actually have them cheaper on aquatraders, and what looks to be the same thing in 30".

And yes that looks like it would be a sufficient fixture.

They're not bad fixtures, for the money. I have the 2x250w MH 4x54w T5 and it works really well. A few others have bought the same fixture as well with out any issues.
