If it can not breed successfully in captivity we are not providing for its needs, and if we quit demanding it they (the poor third worlders) will quit supplying it, and it can go on producing its off spring in the wild and therefore survive. If the oceans go bad were going to die anyway, so if the fish go, and were gone, nobody will be left to care.

I think that the Earth would be better off without us by far, humans a the worst parasite invasion ever known.

Agreed. but if we just have the right mentality we can live without damaging our world. We can live in harmony with our planet and still have advanced technology. But humans always learn their lesson when its too late. we're passive morons.

We dont nor will we ever have the right mentality, humans are selfish by nature.
Selfish, self centered, sexually and materially driven animals with dysfunctional over sized brains. Only the civilized humans seem so intent on obtaining all their "deserved" luxuries that they will de-teraform the earth knowingly just to get them as easily as possible.
