Live Rock introduced to aquarium

I have white fuzzy looking stuff growing on live rock in a few spots. Does anyone know what this is and is it bad? It looks almost like cacoonish or spider web like fuzz.

I have a few spots of the same thing. New exactly what you were talking about before the pic because that's exactly how I would have described it. I'm curious to know the answer too.

Probably sponges. Good thing, natural filtration.

It's hard to tell from the pic, but my guess would also be a type of sponge. They are harmless. You should see them pop up all over the place, but usually on the undersides of rocks where they don't get a lot of light.
