Lionfish ate Snail

While I was cleaning my glass i knocked off one of the leather back snails of the glass and the lionfish ate it...just wondering if anyone had any of their fish eat a snail...is there anything that can be done? will he be ok?

he ate the whole thing...it was about as small as a finger nail

NIce! I had a lionfish to eat a mandarin one time. But your fish will be just fine.

I just feed him some more food and he seems fine...i am just going to have to be extra carefull when cleaning the glass...these things breed like wild fire

My husband had a fairly large red texan in his fresh water tank and I can't put snails in there without him eating them. He even ate a crawfish we put in there.

Yeah. Because that's what they eat.

He should be fine. From my experiance they will reguritate it eventually. I had one eat a hermit crabs whole and later I found the remains. Here is an article I found. It does say they can eat snails and hermit crabs, but nothing about there shells.

also I watch a snail fall right on my Long tenticle anome. He closed up right away and ate him. Later that night he spit out the shell. it was crazy

Yeah. Because that's what they eat.

These are not small snails we put in there, and we feed him feeder fish and shrimp and seems pretty happy.

I wasn't saying he wasn't happy. I was just saying they'll eat anything. :D
