How much light?

How much light do I need on top of my fuge? I have some of biff's cheato in there and my LFS told me a cheap light for a small aquarium would do the trick?

I heard Biff's Cheato is so good it doesn't need a light!!

Like a 65w or better should do. Some people have success with the compact flourescents too.

A little 13-16w CFL bulb screwed into a clamp on work light will be enough.

So what would the 16w be in a regular bulb? Just so I put it in my head. Sounds about the same. I heard you need the right spectrum on the cfl's. 51k, 19 w, i have this one.

What about lighting cycle? I have researched to do a reverse schedule to balance PH levels. I have been doing a 30min overlap between my 7 hour tank lights, and the rest Fuge time. Seems as if the Cheato is growing pretty thick. I have a T8 florescent fixture on the fuge.

most of us do a cycle like that.. I go main lights 12 hrs then fuge the other 12 to keep ph up. I do 10 hrs all lights on 2 hrs ( one in the morning one at night) just actinics and blue lights..
