How high should I go

Reefing newb
I'm looking into getting a netal halide light to put over my 75 gallon tank. I can get the 608 watt or I can get a 716 watt for $60 more. I want as much light as I can get to be able to grow anything I want in the tank but at the same time, I don't want to go melting my corals either. So which would be more suitable for a reef tank?

i would go with the 716. i assume its 2 250w halides and 4 t5s? if you think its too much you can always not run 2 bulbs and have less light, but i think i would spend the extra 60..

Yes, two 250's and four T5's. I was thinking the same thing. Right now I feel my tankis "underlit" with just a four bulb T5 over it and a metal halide will really liven things up in there and enable me to have different stuff in there.
