how do you ship coral??

imdaring

love my reef
I have a bunch of torch coral that are splitting and I'm think about selling a couple and I also have been fragging my kenya tree to I néed oxygen or is the air in the bag good enough for oxygen??

for coral, oxygen isnt as important as it would be with fish, just be sure to have heat packs and some sort of insulation to keep the heat in

Temperature is very importent when shipping. Just make sure that the water you ship it in isnt to cold or to hot for the coral!

It is also helpful to buy a block of styrofoam and cut it into cubes. Then either glue or stick the frag into the styrofoam and put it in the bag with water hanging upside down, that way the coral doesn't end up smooshed on the bottom of the baggie.

Ya I have had a lot of my coral shipped to me that way and it really seems to help they seem much more healthy

if they are smaller pieces, I've seen some people use a small thermos too..... most are insulated to help keep the water temp somewhat stable and the thermos itself provides shipping protection....
