Hi! This is actually my first attempt at salt water aquariums. My family has been saying that it was too much work and that it was expensive and stuff so it took me a while to get started. But, I thought, why not just try it for a bit and see where it goes?

So, any tips so that I will not end up killing my pretty fishies? :)

Right now, I just have a couple of fish and some corals. Just to see if I can maintain it. I don't want to start big and end up killing the poor creatures (i hope not...)

Thank you for your encouragement! :)

I mostly use my cousin's old supplies. I know nothing of the specifications of the filters and the lights. But the light that my cousin gave me was blue, does it make a difference? do you know of any sites or at least threads in this forums that would help me get acquainted with the necessary materials? I'm really sorry...as you can see, i really don't know much. My cousin also bought the fish and corals for me...Thank you.

Welcome to the site and the hobby.
You may end up dis-owning your cousin later on:mrgreen:
If you can get some pics of your setup and the equipment your cousin gave you, then we'll be able to help you sort it all out and tell what you've got.

Also,I took the liberty to move you into an introduction thread of your own,so the other members can get to know you.

Hi and welcome! Obviously your cousin doesn't like you very much. You may want to go back to them and negotiate some monies for you're taking it of their hands!!!:fechten2:
