its week 3, what should the ammonia, nitrite, nitrate levels be? can anyone help

It really varies from tank to tank...
What are your parameters?

Ideally as close to 0 on all of them but erincahir is right it depends on the tank.

Each tank will take its own time to cycle, but when ammonia and nirtrites go to zero, your cycle is over.

hi, its a 20 gal tank. salinity around 1.023, pH is 8.0, ammonia is low but readable, the nitrate level is high and the nitrite level is the highest

Sounds pretty standard for week 3 of a cycle. It sounds like your ammonia has started to drop, so your nitrites are going up. You are halfway through with the cycle, and nitrites should go down in the next week or two, until both ammonia and nitrites are at zero.
