Hi everyone,
I've been keeping freshwater tanks for almost 5 years, and just started my first marine build in March.
There aren't many salties on my regular forum, so I started looking for a place to learn and talk about marine. So, here I am.
My system:
46gl bow front DT
20 sump
DIY LED lighting
DIY UAS
Eshopps psk-100 skimmer
Arduino micro controller - build in progress
Jebao WP25
So, I cycled my tank and began to add fish in week 10. 2 P. Clowns...had to be the first fish because I have 2 boys. A five year old and a four year old.
Then I made a bit of a mistake and bought a Flame Angel and Coral Beauty a week later...I got a little too excited, and stocked too fast.
The result...Ich, and the loss of the Flame Angel. A lesson in QT early in my experience. At least the tank wasn't loaded with fish and corals yet.
So, now I'm back to the pet rock phase in my DT as the remaining fish are undergoing hyposalinity treatment in a hospital tank for the next 7 weeks.
I look forward to talking salt, and learning from your experiences!
