i have a lotta stuff floatin n my tank and the only filter i have is a wet/dry one. what kinda filter can i get to remove everything so i can have crystal clear water, i dont want stuff gettn into my fishes.

will a protein skimmer do this?

Protein skimmer will definitely help. What do you mean by "stuff" floating? Is it chunks of something or just something making it look cloudy? Any color to it?

A protein skimmer is a must.

If you buy a canister filter and run carbon in it for a few days at a time that will help clear up your water too. But I would not recommend running it constantly.
