Hermit dilema

So, I was warned when I was ordering my rock that hermits can terrorize a tank but, I got 29 of them with my rock. They've only been in my tank for about a week and already, I can see at least 10-15 snails that have been killed for their shells. I knew this was going to happen but, I like my snails. Is it feasible or even worthwhile putting most of the hermits into the sump? Will they even survive there? I have snails, 2 cucs, serpent star, and peppermint shrimp, are they enough for a CUC without crabs?
I know it's kind of a lot of questions but, I appreciate any help.

What type of crabs are they? They will be ok in the sump.

They're just dwarf blue legs ... a few have grown REALLY quick

I like to place my nasty hermits in the sump for punishment. They can clean the cheato for all I care, lol. They seem happy in there. I have two that I placed in solitary....

Put them in the sump (or even better, fuge if you have one). Toss some food in there for them whenever you feed your fish.

Or take them to your LFS for some store credit!

Thanks, I actually meant fuge. Hopefully I can get into the LFS this weekend and ask them about it.

So is the rest of the crew I have capable of handling the tank?

Yeah, your tank will be fine if you have a diverse cleaner crew to make up for the hermits.
