i just restarted my 90 gal tank. I took it down because my sulfur headed moray eeel died and crashed my tank. I also got a new pump and i seem to be having some issues. i filled the lower tank and filled the aquarium i then siphoned water from the aquarium to the sump tank. i pluggedd in the pump and the sump tank overflowed! what did i do wrong?

I might be reading this wrong but if you have created a siphon, you may be draining the main tank faster than the pump and push out of the sump.


can you provide any pics of your setup ??

unfortunaly not. now however it seems that the tank isnt draining into the sump and the pump is on but it isnt pushing any water into the aquarium

take the pump apart and see if the impeller is catching on something.

Is your tank drilled, or are you using an overflow pipe or box?
