Foods and feeding – This shrimp feeds only on the tube feed of echinoderms, and prefers the Asterias rubens species. If you are going to keep this shrimp you must be able to provide food for them.

Captive care – This shrimp does best in a small tank with a mated pair. They only eat the tube feet of starfish. A starfish can be kept in another tank, cutting off small pieces of the legs every few days. The legs should grow back as long as the starfish is kept in the proper environment. Like all invertebrates, they are extremely sensitive to nitrates and copper, and should only be kept in aquariums with pristine water conditions.
