GSP on Back Wall

Has anyone attempted this? I would like to see some pics please? I think it would look sweet swaying all over! Im getting about a 4-5 inch frag in the mail probably tuesday.

Pics and how long it took to grow for you would be great!!!

You only need to trim it back when it starts to grow over the overflows.

I've seen it. It really does look cool. However as it getts bigger it can not support it's own wait, and it will fall right off. My advice would be to set a limit on the size and trim it as need be to keep it upright.

good point with the trimming hmmm...
we should all put our heads together and figure a way to give it a structure to hold onto
a plastic screen with a whole lot of small holes in it too give the GSP a chance to anchor any ideas?

You could use egg crate if you really want to have an entire wall full of it. Just give it time to grow out and it will be fine. Just cut the egg crate to fit the area of glass you want to cover.

Wow, lots of great ideas for this... thanks. Never thought it could cripple under its own weight. I also didnt think it would grow OVER the overflow. The eggcrate sounds like a great idea though. I think i am going to start with a little bit of eggcrate and slowly add on on to it as the gsp grow. It seems like it would be much easier to control on the back wall then on the rock too.

little sections of eggcrate one on top of another wouldnt be very stable, but a single piece wedged up against it with a big piece of live rock would do very well, although it would be sin ugly for a long time unless you got black eggcrate O.O
lol its late beleive it or not my brain "works" like that
i saw some plastic like i discribed in my earlier post i thought of eggcrate but figured it would be far too ugly to be proud of
one problem i can see with that amount of fragile life if something gos wrong its going to go real wrong. but ive never had any GSP

If you do the egg crate put the GSP in several differnt spots on the stuff. Let it grow out to each other. Don't attach the egg crate to anything, stand it up, maybe hold it in place with a piece of live rock. That way if later on down the road you decide you don't like it, you can pull it off by using a putty knife as a scrapper.

Lol, it was late. Especially because I was all doped up on pain pills (wisdom teeth). Black egg crate will look better to the eye.

An all in one cut out will probably work the best. Easy to remove also.

Heck, if I don't like I'll let it grow out some and send some people free frags if it!!! Probably just do that anyway when it starts getting out of control!
