I had a Yellow Clown Goby and he was a little devil! He nipped the hell out of my plate coral.
Is there a little goby that won't nip corals? I searched the web but it seems like they all do.

When gobies do not get enough food, that is when they start nipping at corals. How often do you feed him, if you are not feeding him directly how much are you feeding him indirectly?

Clown gobies are known for nipping at stony corals. They're alot like dwarf angels though, they're hit or miss.

I also have a Tangaroa Goby he is really small but looks cool. I bought him only because my lfs was going out of biz. I have been doing some reading and from what I can tell most of the gobies are reef safe and easy to keep. Just feed them at least once a day and they should leave everything else alone.

Check out the Dracula goby

liveaquaria.com, describes Yellow Clown Gobies as ref safe but I saw mine nip at corals like a devil. I recall other LR members saying the same thing.

Clown Gobies will nip at coral polyps, usually SPS.They can also cause problems with the corals staying closed because they like to perch in the branches of SPS corals.

I have not had any problems with my ducans saying closed. But when it is feeding time my goby will shake the entire 30 heads, then they will close. So I have my fingers crossed becaused I did read that about them.

Lately He has gotten much bolder and is cruising all of the cracks in the rocks form one end of the tank to the other.
