Gallons of water per pound of fish?

In the oceans, how many gallons of water is there per pound of fish? The flow, current and water per fish on a real reef is like 3 water changes a day. In other words, compared to the ocean how overstocked is the average tank?

The fish in our tanks is usually measured by the inch.
So many inch per gallon of water.
But I can't remember what that figure is. I'm sure someone will chime in soon.

usually its one inch of grown fish per 5 gallons of water

But for stocking comparisons,Our tanks are extremely over stocked.Even if you considered a 1,000 gallon tank with 2 Catalina gobies in it.JMO though.
