Fluval 305 media??

Hey I've got a 55G reef aquarium with a fluval 305 canister filter.ive bin using the fluval bags that are made for the canister, is there anything better like bio ,balls or the sheets of carbon ,amonia or phosphate that I could cut in to size will these do fine?

Hello and Welcome!

Very few people use canister filters on reef tank, its too much work keeping them running so that they benefit the reef. Having enough rock and a good skimmer is a much better filtration system.

But you should keep it incase you need to run some carbon. They are useful for random stuff, so best to keep hold of it, just nobody uses them constantly due to cleaning.
