Firefish Help!

Hey, i purchased my first firefish the other day..

He's just been hiding 80% of the time.
Is this normal? In the LFS he didn't have that much room to hide, i guess. Do you think he will come out?

Actually as I'm typing this, he's just come out. But i think only for food. :frustrat:

I would say this is normal...as long as he is eating you are good.

Mine was really shy at first? No worries as long as he is eating.

Give him some time to warm up to his new home. I'm sure he will come out.

They can be shy fish. What else do you have in there with him?

+1 everyone....both of mine for months would only come out for food. But once I added more social and active fish, mine felt safer and came out more.

Firefish are usually very shy.
They are also known to be psychotic jumpers. Make sure you have some form of cover for the tank or the firefish might jump out.
