elegance coral hep

help me out guys i put my elegance coral in about a month ago, and it was fine for about 2 weeks, it was opening up really nicely, to about a 1 1/2 extension all day, now im getting about 1/2 extension and it closed up by 4 today, ive been offering it mysis but i dont know if its eating, its in the open of the tank, but at the bottom, and the flow has been the same, except minor changes, should i give it more shade?

Elegance corals are VERY hard to keep. I had one for about 6 months before it withered away into nothing. I had it on the bottom of my tank, tried different flows, feeding krill, etc. But it still just died. I've talked with an LFS owner and he was saying that the Indonesian variety tend to do better in dirtier water, which is what was aim to NOT have in our home aquariums. Good luck.

They are difficult corals. They seem to just waste away. We will need to see your water parameters.
