Drain line question?

I just switched out my canisters for a sump. I'm currently filling it up and have a question before starting. I have a three chamber sump. Drain with Skimmer, refugium, and return. My question is...should the drain line where the skimmer is be below the water level or just above? :frustrat:

it depends on your skimmer typically it doesnt matter its just quieter if it is submersed

I'm glad you said that because that's how I plumbed it. It's about an inch below the surface. Thank you for the quick reply. Its appreciated for sure.:bounce:

I prefer it below the surface. It will cut down on noise, reduce splashing, and also reduce the amount of micro bubbles created.
