DIY sump

I am building a sump. The sump will be 10 gallons when done but I need glass for the dividers and I wanted you guys to help me. This is what help I need. I need 4 pieces of glass that I can drill holes into and that need to fit from the bottom of the tank to the top of the tank on the inside. What thickness do I need and also where is the closest place near me that I can get this glass my zip code is 95129 and will that place cut it for me or do I have to cut it myself?

1/4 inch should work and you might want to look into plexiglass and you could check home depot or the likes. If you are going to drill glass you need a diamond drill bit, but plexiglass is much more forgiving.

+1 on the plexiglass to create sections in the sump much easier than dealing with glass.

clownster what do you mean when you say forgiving salt_for_brains what do you man

What I mean is------ plexiglass will work just as well as glass but the plexiglass won't shatter when you drill. Glass can break or shatter when you drill it.

What Nick said. Glass will break if you drill it plexiglass will not.
