Well that was quick.... It still astonishes me how quickly they take root. This is all the yellow from over night

I'm afraid there isn't much you can do. The good news is that it doesn't hurt anything -- it just looks ugly.

Will it go away on its own, eventually? I've been doing water changes and stuff and checking water parms. I think it's just because I'm almost done cycling?

Yep, it will eventually go away on it's own, it feeds on silicates which new sand has tons of. So, until all the silicates are used up you'll see the diatoms.
