Dead torch

Hello everyone,
I had a torch coral die on me recently, something ripped half of his head off and it didnt pull through. I put the dying torch in my 5 gallon and after it died i siphoned out the tissue (which smelled ... beyond nasty) and did a 50% on the 5 gallon.

Should i do another 50% water change? and would it be okay to leave the skelly in the tank? (after all its now a 40$ piece of live rock now) or should i take it out and soak it in a bucket on the step?

Sorry to hear about your torch :( I love torch's, hammers and frog spawn's it sucks when these kind of things happen.
