Couple of questions

Hey every1. just got a few questions. What type of filtration do i need for a QT? I already know you can use any lights, small heater and a small powerhead and putting a small pvc pipe for hiding. just confused about filtration?
will putting cheato in my sump remove or make my nitrates go to zero with there being no fish to add to the bioload?

My understanding that just water changes are what you want to do for a QT tank along with everything else you listed.
