Its not that hard. Its alive cause its colors have changed since I got it and a little string of something was on 1 of the tips. Also most of the tips are whitish where its been growing.

And I agree after seeing the close up pics.
BTW,If thats what is,dont let it touch any corals you want to keep.Hydnophora has a fairly potient sting and will most likely kill any corals it stings.
Well I finally think I found what it is. I think its a Pachyseris, I think its a stony coral, and here is a link to one similar to mine 2x2 Pretty Pachyseris!: Extreme Corals
