Clownfish Question

I just bought a clownfish for my 8 gallon reef a day ago and it keeps swimming at the glass. Is this normal until he gets used to the tank?

I've got a psychotic clown image in my head.

But to be honest, 8 gallons is too small for clwnfish, they are a 20g min fish.

But, he could just be stressed out

Clowns act weird to begin with, but he needs a bigger tank.
