Did a top off and within minutes my tank became cloudy, Not sure what the problem is, standard top off with usual top off water. Identification on what the cause my have been? Ways to fix it?

i had a bacteria bloom like that once. do you use ro/di water or tap?

was Distilled, could it have been bad water?

yeah. that is what i think bad water. thats what my LFS said when it happened to me. UV starilizer would stop bacteria blooms. mine just went away and i never saw it again.

Was the water stagnant for awhile before you added it to the tank. Or else what I was thinking is did you add anything to the top off bucket(ph buffer, calcium, etc.) that may be sitting stagnant in the water...it's best to allow the water to keep circulated. Just a thought. :)

do you add kalk to your water? it could also be precipitation.
