clam shells in LR, what to do with em?

My LR I got has tons of holes in them but a lot are full of opened clam or mussel or whatever grey shelled creatures there are, that definitely appear non living. Now they are already in the tank, but will these be a nuisance for any fish or inverts that want to dig in there or hide in there? Will the fish or invert find a way to pull it out? I mean some of them look kinda cool and give it that ocean-like feel, so what do u guys suggest doing?

some of them are almost an inch long. There doesn't seem to be anything inside the shell, it is permanently open and nothing from what I can see is in there. One or two shells fell out and are easy to break.

My LR came with several, some were big, most were small. A lot off them were still alive, but they died off with in the first month or so.
