Chaeto vs sponges

Can anyone tell me if sponges eat the nutrients that chaeto needs, my chaeto is bleaching out, could that be the reason?

There is a lot of white sponge throughout my fuge.

I would think it's lighting. How long do you run your lighting and how much do you feed?
