CAPTIVE CARE – This is an extremely aggressive fish; know to terrorize other fish and any hand being put in the tank. They will eat any inverts that they can get their “beak” on. The males are green in color; females, brow. They can be kept in pairs if the tank is large enough and the female is added first. The bird wrasse prefers an aquarium with lots of rockwork to hide in, but this is still an active fish requiring plenty of room to swim. Wrasses are known jumpers so the aquarium top should be covered.
