Anyone ever tried Pure Marine bals?

So.... I am an idiot and bought this product mistakenly off of Amazon thinking it was Marine Pure ceramic media filter balls. What it is is Pure Marine:

It was $20 for 50 balls which would last me 5 weeks at their recommended dosage. They're little clear 1/2" dia. balls. it's supposed to add to your bacteria and clean your water.

Anyone have any experience with this product? I had to look up the website just to get instructions, the packaging just tells the benefits of it.

I never got any response as to whether it worked so I didn't use it.

I might still though.
