Any idea what this is?

Just looked in my tank when the lights came on and saw this thing that was not there the night before and no idea what it is or how it got there. Anyone??

Are you sure it wasnt there the night before? It almost looks like a black urchin spike....where is the rock from

I am pretty sure. Being it's a relatively new tank (six months) I look at it pretty often and I think I'd remember that considering it's basically in front of the tank. All this rock was all bought at once from reefrocks.net and was cleaned multiple times before I put it in the water and it's been running about six months now.

It actually blew across the tank. I'm guessing that's what it was but no idea how it got in there.
