Looking for a decent hydrometer I know a refractometer is way better but,

I have the oceanic hydrometer but it is needle is moving from 1.020 -1.023 is my water not quite right or is that just a hydrometer for you.

I plan on getting a digital refractometer soon just trying to get by with a hydrometer for now

so what is a good (decent) hydrometer

Yes, most people buy the cheap $20 refractometer. You will want to buy the calibration fluid with it, which costs a couple bucks. They are very easy to calibrate. You put the calibration fluid on the refractometer, then you simply turn a screw to get it to the number it's supposed to be at.

Stay away from hydrometers. They need to be replaced every 6 months anyways because they stop working, and they don't work well to begin with. You won't save any money buy using a hydrometer.
