2 chamber sump?

If you plumb the return to the refugium you might run into a few issues, the big one being that your refugium will become the evaporation chamber and will constantly need to be topped off. This could be a mess. Plus when the power shuts off, the incoming reverse siphon can stir things up a bit too.

At the very least, you'll want something to block the surge of incoming/outgoing water; you don't want your fuge stirred up each time you do something.

Practically speaking, the return really should have it's own chamber to pull from, and nothing too small or you'll have to top it off every few hours. Personally, I'd rather have a two chamber sump, | return | | | skimmer | and make the refugium external instead, if that's what I had to work with.
