10 Gal Reef set-up

Yeah, I been looking them up. They are both pretty peaceful, and about all they have in common appearance-wise is their color. I'll probably attempt it, if it doesn't work, one will either end up in the 55, or back at the lfs.

I wouldn't even risk it.

The chance is too high that they'll go after each other.

Theyre not in the same genus, though, and adult size is 2+" different. Still think so? Only common trait is colour and family Gobidae...

Yes, even that is enough to cause a problem...and the problem isn't seeing aggression, but seeing a dead fish floating around....

As for being different fishes, I will voice the tale of my Tomini Tang, who was purple with yellow fins and tail harrassing my Starry Blennie, also purple with yellow fins and tail nearly to death....just because of similar colors....after all, they don't look in mirrors to see what they look like, but just see similarities, GENERALLY just size and / or color...

Just in a 10G period. I'm sure it would do fine with either, seeing as they look NOTHING alike. Lolz :p

Yes a neon goby would do fine. But even then I think it would be hard to see if you have a lot of live rock. I've seen the LFS selling neon gobies and they are TINY.

Yeah, maximum size is like 2" I think. But, on the plus side, my lights should be here tmrw afternoon! And cycle in the tank went really fast. Ammonia and Nitrites are gone, still have a little Nitrates left, but I'm going to do a wc on Friday :)!

Lights are here! And nitrates were down to 5.0. Went out and got like 4 Red Hermits, and 4 Zebras and 4 Nassarius snails. Also picked up a Yellow Clown Goby :)! Pics coming soon :mrgreen:

He's cute lol. About 1" long, and he's shy as hell haha. Doesn't exactly run away from me, but more tucks himself away just a little further in the rocks. Once he realizes I'm where the food comes from he'll be a little more excited to see me :)!

Also picked up a little power head for the tank. My LFS ordered me one that is rated for 50-90gph. Not planning on doing any hard corals (for a while probably) so for now that will be fine. I also have a little fountain pump that's rated for 75gph (was going to use that and another one for my refug once I set it up) that I can stick in there for a little extra flow if I feel like I'll need it. The little power head came to like 15$ lol. So, even if I decide to get a Hydor Koralia 240, I can always use that little one for mixing my salt water for my wc. Tanks coming along now!! :)

he is soo cute...I totaly started a 30G nano this last sunday :mrgreen:

I sold my race quad so got an MP10, neptune controller, ATO and HOB fuge for it (I have had the tank and coralife light in the back room for months) got some stuff for the 75 as well haha

tested today and am seeing high nitrites with no ammonia...guess I missed it lol

I might put up a build I don't know yet...I put it up Sunday and tested AMM on monday with it.25, tested last night and 0 AMM, 1ppm Nitrite and 0 Nitrate

guess it's going faster than I thought, I did put some LR in from the 75 and chaeto in my HOB fuge so we will see!!

Make a post, make a post! I love watching builds :)! And yeah, my cycle went fast as hell, since i re-used the water, the refug HOB filter, all the same rocks (kept it all in a bucket with the water while I was taking out the sand). But, yeah, make a new thread! :mrgreen:

So, my girlfriend knew I was looking to get a small goby to put in the 10g with the yellow clown, so she went out to Absolutely Fish (Clifton Nj) and picked up a Neon Goby. I was super excited when I found out! So, I came home today from visiting family for Easter, and too my suprise....... she got me a fish with ich. In the process of setting up a Quarantine Tank now. Any advice on what I should do for this poor little guy? And, also, should I move the Yellow Clown over to the QT as well? Or should I leave him in the DT and monitor him to see if he gets any of the spots? Any feedback is very much appreciate. I'm pretty darn stressed :frustrat::(:(
