Dec 8, 2011 #1 J Jason04r Reefing newb Hello, i've just done a water change (20%), Did a test again my ammonia is 0.1ppm but my nitrite is at 0. I haven't put any food in my tank for 2 days. I have about 6-7 snails and a cleaner shrimp. What can i do to lower it? Thanks

Dec 8, 2011 #2 Smitty Reef pro Do you run any type of phos-guard media...that should help get rid of the rest of the phosphates.
Dec 8, 2011 #3 little_fish Reef pro what brand of test kit are you using? Some test kits always read a low level of ammonia, even if there isnt any there. But if you really do have ammonia, do water changes to bring it down

Dec 9, 2011 #4 J Jason04r Reefing newb I will have to check the test kit i'm using. All i have is a new skimmer and a 1 day old micro bubble foam stopper. I have a filter unit which came with the tank with a carbon media in it, shall i install that to lower my ammonia. Thanks
